The Time Has Come

Standard

This is a pantoum poem I wrote. The first four lines are sentences taken from the book “Dance of Death”  by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. I found lines I liked and made minor changes to them and that is the first four lines. I hope you like it.

A cold smile played on his lips
Everything of relevance had happened
Behind the row of mansions the woods lay asleep
And she extinguished the light with a prayer

Everything of relevance had happened
There was nothing else left to be done
Behind the row of mansions the woods lay asleep
Quiet as the setting of the sun

There was nothing left to be done there
When the time had come for the truth
Quiet as the setting of the sun we were
And as grand as the whole of the earth

When the time had come for the truth
A cold smile played on his lips
As grand as the whole of the earth it was
And she extinguished the light with a prayer

About windwalker07

I'm a Jamerican; American born of 2 Jamaican parents. I am a voracious reader, a writer, a wife and a mother of 5 (1 girl). My favorite genre is science fiction but I will read anything. my favorite author right now is Lee Child (this changes often) I listen to all kinds of music but my favorites are jazz, Latin-jazz and classical. I write whatever comes to me and I've learned to start whether I have something or not.
