I’ve never seen so many fireflies
All lighting up the night in turn and turn
Their blinking on and off beckons my eyes
In rhythmic concert as their bodies burn
They sparkle, shine and dance around the yard
Like earthbound fireworks that hold my gaze
Though choosing where to look is sometimes hard
As they traverse their invisible maze
I watch the lovely thing Allah has made
And as I watch it fills my eyes with tears
The thing I saw but thought was a charade
The seen unseen was there for all those years
The fireflies for me put on a show
And I enjoy their intermittent glow

About windwalker07

I'm a Jamerican; American born of 2 Jamaican parents. I am a voracious reader, a writer, a wife and a mother of 5 (1 girl). My favorite genre is science fiction but I will read anything. my favorite author right now is Lee Child (this changes often) I listen to all kinds of music but my favorites are jazz, Latin-jazz and classical. I write whatever comes to me and I've learned to start whether I have something or not.
