Writers and poets always seem to be depressed people
But that may be because they are very solitary people
It’s an occupational hazard, of sorts, You can’t
Do what we do and spend a lot of time around a lot of people
Your time must be spent writing and that is something you can’t do in company
It must be done alone; or semi-alone
Because all your time is spent with people who are telling you their stories
And demanding that you not only listen to their story, but write it.
